Finding a manufacturer in Vietnam is less about browsing another directory and more about knowing what to ask for.

This guide is for importers, brands, and sourcing teams who need a factory that can actually make the product — not a trading company with a good website.

Start with the product, not the company

Write down:

  • What you need made
  • Target quantity (first order and 12-month view)
  • Materials, finishes, and any certifications buyers will ask for
  • Where you will sell

That brief is what a good supplier search is built on. You can start from the homepage by describing the product in plain language.

Separate manufacturers from traders

Many listings mix factories, trading companies, and mixed models. That is not automatically bad — traders can be useful — but you should know which one you are talking to.

Useful signals (always verify against the company’s own materials):

  • A named factory location, not only a city showroom
  • OEM / ODM language tied to a specific process
  • Export markets they claim, with enough detail to check

Do not treat a directory badge as proof. See OEM vs ODM in Vietnam for how those labels are used.

Ask for evidence, then visit or audit

Before a deposit, ask for:

  • Factory address and a video walkthrough of the line that would make your product
  • Recent export documents or customer references in your market (redact as needed)
  • Certificates as files, not logos — check issuer and expiry

If a claim cannot be sourced, treat it as unverified.

Build a shortlist, then contact

Three to five relevant factories beat fifty cold emails. Compare MOQ, process, location, and whether they already export to your region.
